Prevention Educator

East Bay Agency for Children (EBAC) is dedicated to the health and educational well being of children and families through specialized therapeutic, educational and peer support services. We are seeking a 30 hours a week Prevention Educator.

Job Description:
The Prevention Educator is responsible for the implementation of child abuse/youth violence prevention programs in Alameda County schools and the community. Serves as a liaison between the CAP Training Center and the communities served. This position is 30 hours per week with full-time benefits.

  • Provide Child Assault Prevention (CAP) program to children and youth in preschool through high school; and adults, including parents and school staff;
  • Provide presentations to community groups, businesses, and other youth-serving organizations
  • Documents all service delivery, prepares reports, and assists with the training of interns and volunteers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
B.A. in social work, psychology or related field or equivalent combination of experience and training; two year’s demonstrated experience working in school settings, public speaking, program planning and evaluation. Ability to work effectively with diverse communities. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently. Flexible schedule, excellent organizational, written/oral skills; strong computer skills. Bilingual Spanish, a plus.
