Clinical Coordinator

The Child Assault Prevention Training Center (CAP) and the Fremont Prevention and Life Skills (FPALS) programs are seeking applicants for a Clinical Coordinator. This position is full time 30 hours per week with benefits.

The Clinical Coordinator plans, develops, directs and conducts the supervision and training of the clinical staff working in the South County section of Alameda County. This area currently includes EBAC’s CAP Mental Health Services and Fremont PALS programs, which serve the school districts of Hayward, San Leandro and Fremont. The Clinical Coordinator supervises the clinical aspects of the South County Mental Health program, including group and individual supervision of staff and interns, plans and implements trainings throughout the year, maintains relations with school personnel, and collaborates with the program directors to develop and guide the program.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D., MSW, or MA in a mental health discipline, clinical license and two years post license experience.
  • Prior experience in program management of inter-disciplinary and interagency programs in multi-cultural school settings.
  • Prior successful program development and implementation experience, including multi-site supervision.
  • Excellent supervisory, administrative, written and oral communication skills.
    Ability to drive with valid driver's license, auto insurance, and access to use of an automobile as needed.

Responsibilities (*Essential functions )

  • *Recruit, select, train, supervise, manage, motivate and evaluate clinical staff in collaboration with the program directors.
  • *Provide weekly individual and group supervision sessions for mental health staff.
  • *Provide weekly group supervision session(s) for interns, and individual supervision as needed.
  • *Plan and implement training throughout the year for mental health staff, and interns as needed.
  • *Maintain relations with school site personnel, supporting clinical staff in their relationships at the school sites.
  • *Attend EBAC, County and community meetings and trainings related to mental health service delivery and funding streams.
  • Work in conjunction with the management teams of other EBAC mental health programs.
  • *Maintain compliance with State and local regulations, and with terms of contracts and grants, including school district contracts, EPSDT and ACMH contracts, and UR requirements.
  • Assist program directors with school and county communications regarding mental health services, and maximum generation of billing units.
  • Manage attendance and preparation of files for monthly UR meetings.
  • *Maintain ongoing and year-end review of clinical charts, to assure compliance with all contract, funding and privacy requirements.
  • Provide direct crisis intervention services as needed, particularly in support of line staff.
  • Work with administrative assistant to accomplish billing input, ordering of supplies, and other administrative supports for the mental health staff. Keep program directors informed of these processes.
  • Monitor employee work schedules and inform program directors of any issues, absences, and vacations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS and JOB SETTING

  1. Work is in varied school locations, observing clinical staff. Mobility is needed to access program office on the second floor of a two-story building with stairs that need to be climbed.
  2. Some work is in potentially rough school settings, with broken windows as an example, and with high noise levels at times.
  3. May need to use child-size chairs for sitting.
  4. Routine driving is required.
  5. Periodic lifting up to 50 pounds is required.
